Intro Blog
My name is Sasha Grivas and I am a junior at Fort Lauderdale High School. Some interests that I enjoy are skateboarding, swimming, and knitting. I joined my first swim team when I was at a young age, around 6 years old, and have been swimming since. Swimming has always come natural to me, it wasn't a very difficult sport, but it still challenged and pushed me to become better. My favorite stroke is butterfly, even though it is the hardest one to do, in my opinion. I participated in districts last year, and I was in the butterfly set, and even though I hadn't qualified for regional, the experience has made me want to do better the next time. With practice and training, I've been able to push myself to swim faster. Skateboarding is a hobby I like to do when I want to go someplace by myself. I cannot drive yet, so I need some form of transportation to get me places. I have been skating for about a year, and I mostly just cruise around or travel with it. During quarantine, I have been trying to learn tricks on it, but I still haven't managed to land it. But I am very determined to do it, so hopefully, I will land it soon. I first got interested in skating when my friend started doing it. She taught me which places have good wheels, boards, and all the other tools I need. Now, we all skate together as a group, and I always have a good time when I am skateboarding. Knitting is something that I had recently been doing as a way to relax. For me, it relieves my stress about school and homework, and it takes my mind off things for hours. My grandma taught me how to knit a couple of months ago, and I haven't stopped doing it since then. I am currently trying to knit a quilt with Christmas colors as a present to my family. I usually knit when I have a lot of stressful things on my mind, and I need a way to relax.
