This video is my Creative Critical Reflection for my final task. I wanted to be creative so I made it into a sort of radio station with a guest. I put a lot of hard work and effort into the project, and I am proud of the product.

AICE Media Final Task: Chuckles the Clown

Image
Making this project, I gained so many new experiences and new knowledge about media, filming, and editing. I had a lot of fun making this and this class made me appreciate film much more. There were a lot of unexpected changes and obstacles, but I overcame those challenges and pushed through. The film turned out a lot better than I had planned for and I am proud of the effort I put into it. I learned a lot of different techniques, editing styles, and filming tactics from this class and previous projects.

Production Blog: Finishing the Final Task

By today, most of my final task is finished. I already finished the editing of all the clips. I trimmed all of them to the correct length. I included transitions between the clips. I also added all of the appropriate music and sound effects in the film. The only thing I need to finish is putting all the titles in it. I originally wanted a sort of slimy-looking font for the titles. However, I couldn't find it on the editing app. So I used Courier New, which looks like typewriter font. I made the text white, because it was the best color that wouldn't blend in with the background. I made it bold, too, so it would be easier to read. I was a little confused on the order of the titles. But I found the correct order and organized all the titles together. I had planned to add a lot more titles in the film. I was going to have the film switch screens back and forth from a scene to a credit. But, I realized that would take up too much time and I wouldn't have much time for the actu

Today, I am finishing up the last of my editing. I was planning to do it over the weekend, but I did not have time. I was working and I had family over. But I am on the last few scenes of my film. I have to find the right time for each clip still. I am also playing around with the different sound effects and music. I doing a trial and error with the sound. I had to cut out a lot of the scenes. The scenes in my storyboard went way past 2 minutes. I had to improvise and do last minute changes. But it actually turned out better. Whenever I do a project, I usually add or take out things last minute. More ideas come to me as I work on the project throughout the last few weeks. After I was done editing, I watched a couple of my friends' projects. They sent me theirs and wanted to know my opinion on them. Watching their projects also gave me some more ideas. Things like their different editing techniques, such as transitions and filters. I am still going to re-watch my final task a coupl

Production Blog: Trimming Clips

Image
Today, I am editing all of my scenes together. I finally finished filming a couple of days ago. Today, I am trimming all the clips to to the right amount of time. I have a couple of each scene, so I could have different options while editing. I have about 3 videos for each scene and I have to decide which is best. I am going to do some trial and error. I will put some clips together and mix it around. I will play it over a couple of times with the different clips. Then, I will choose the one that looks the best and makes the most sense. I will be using the editing software iMovie. I have been using iMovie for all of my filming projects this year. It is a very good software and includes many different settings. For example, it already has many sound effects and background music with it. It has advanced settings on sound, transitions, and has precise clip trimmers. I was testing out a couple of the clips with different sounds and transitions. However, I realized that I cannot fit all of

:Last weekend, we had a longer weekend because of Easter. I took this time to film a couple more scenes with my sister. We packed all of our supplies including, costumes and props. My mom drove us over to the State Park. We walked along the trail and went into a deeper part so it looked more secluded. The State Park had more greener trees and palm tress than the setting in the beginning. I tried to make it less noticeable. Instead, I made sure only the trunks of the tress were in the frame. Me and my sister filmed there for about an hour. We got a lot done. I only need the scenes in the beginning with my mom. I am planning to do that later in the week. I also might need to go back to the State Park. It will give me a chance to redo scenes that need fixing. And maybe if I have enough time in the end, I could redo the beginning so the settings look alike. I am a little worried that it will look bad, but I think it will be okay. The rest of the time will be spent editing everything togeth

Production Blog: Music

Image
For a couple of days I have been searching for music and sound. I need to find background scary music for my film. I am planning to play a specific tune every time the killer is on screen or close by. This is common in most horror movies that I have watched. It helps add the suspense and gives a little bit of foreshadowing for the audience. I am using the Royalty Free Music website. It has a variety of different tunes for different genres. It also has a lot of different sound effects, which is something I will use. I am still debating on which tune I should use. I am also still looking for more to see if there is a better one. The sound effects are very useful and make it easier for me. I do not have to spend time recording my own effects. The website has different screams, killing sounds, and bushes rustling. I have to make an account on my Mac book, since that will be the computer I will be editing. The Mac has iMovie, which is the app I use to put the film together. I am planning o
