This video is my Creative Critical Reflection for my final task. I wanted to be creative so I made it into a sort of radio station with a guest. I put a lot of hard work and effort into the project, and I am proud of the product.
This is the storyboard for the final task. I wanted to be sure that I could fit all of the scenes I wanted in 60 panels. So, before I finalized it, I sketched out a rough draft of a storyboard. I wanted to see how much panels I could think of. If there were not enough, I would add a few more details, like facial expressions or actions. If I felt that something was unnecessary, I would change it to something more relevant to the film. It took a couple of tries to fit everything I wanted. Finally, I had all 60 panels for my storyboard. I believe that it is an accurate demonstration of my idea. Of course, I am not a very good artist. But for me, I can understand what each panel represents. It shows me what kind of setting or mood I want to establish in that scene. The facial expressions, actions, sounds, etc. are all what tell me what I need to demonstrate in that scene. The storyboard acts as a guideline for what I need to direct. It tells me exactly in picture what I want to conve...
I spent a lot of time editing for this project. First, I had to convert the song into an mp3 file. I wanted the video to start a couple seconds later than the actual song, because the first few seconds are silent. I had a lot of trouble lining up the clip with the second it started. I did not have my computer with me, so I had to edit the video on iMovie on my phone. The program is the same on both, but it's a little harder to trim at an exact time on the phone. I then chose which clip to insert for each scene. For some of them, I had to put them into an editing app called Prequel to add filters and special effects. These scenes were the ones in the "fantasy." I trimmed each to the right time and put them all in iMovie. For the rest of the scenes, I added filters that were included in iMovie. I went over it a couple times to make sure that the lip-sync was right. In a couple of the scenes, they were either too fast or too slow. I had a lot of trouble in editing for this ...
Once I got all my shots, I made sure to edit them to the right part of the clip and the right duration. I spent most of the time trimming all the clips, and deciding which clips were the best. I then exported all the clips to this editing app on my phone called Prequel. I wanted the commercial to have a bright and happy look. I put some filters on it and added some saturation. In one of the clips, I even added a fisheye filter to it, because it made the clip seem more fun. I had many different variations of the same clip, because I wanted some of the movements to match the beats of the song I chose. For example, I wanted to open the door right at the moment the song started. I even tried to do the skate trick at the beat drop. I had a couple ideas of what song to put into my commercial. I knew for sure that it would be an up-beat and rock type of song, so I looked through the music that I had. I then decided on Remember When by the Wallows. It's a very catchy song that a lot of peo...
