Editing Blog: Finding the Right Song

Once I got all my shots, I made sure to edit them to the right part of the clip and the right duration. I spent most of the time trimming all the clips, and deciding which clips were the best. I then exported all the clips to this editing app on my phone called Prequel. I wanted the commercial to have a bright and happy look. I put some filters on it and added some saturation. In one of the clips, I even added a fisheye filter to it, because it made the clip seem more fun. I had many different variations of the same clip, because I wanted some of the movements to match the beats of the song I chose. For example, I wanted to open the door right at the moment the song started. I even tried to do the skate trick at the beat drop. I had a couple ideas of what song to put into my commercial. I knew for sure that it would be an up-beat and rock type of song, so I looked through the music that I had. I then decided on Remember When by the Wallows. It's a very catchy song that a lot of people can enjoy, and it is very up-beat. I converted the song into an mp3, and downloaded into the commercial. I inserted all the clips into iMovie, and then I trimmed and added transitions to it. Once I put all six of my clips, I went back and replayed the commercial to see if there was anything to improve. I tried to align some of my movements to the beats of the song. I made sure the next clip would play at the beat so it would look very organized and visually pleasing. I made some final adjustments with the final clip and added the Vans logo in the middle of the screen. As a last-minute decision, I thought it would be a good idea to include some aspects of the shoes during the video. Such as, how it helps with everyday skating, whether it's landing tricks or just skate around. I felt like this change would give it more of an appearance of an advertisement of Vans. Finally, I double-checked everything was in order and that I was satisfied with the product.
