Introduction to Music Video Project
For my music video, I have decided to work alone, with the exception of my sister acting with me in the video. I thought it would be easier to have her be in the video with me, instead of having to rely on someone else. I generally like working alone, because I can edit or change an aspect of the video without having to come to a compromise. Working alone is better for me, because I plan on having the music video done at my apartment complex or somewhere near it, and I won't have to wait on anybody. The song that I have decided to be in my music video is Money Money Money by ABBA. I chose this song, because I have always loved the movie Mamma Mia. I've been obsessed with ABBA songs ever since I watched that movie. When I was figuring out which song to choose, I decided to look through all my songs on Spotify. I have a lot of songs saved on it, ad there are all songs I know and love, so I thought that it would make the process easier. I scrolled through for about half and hour and I had three possible choices. It was between Telephone by Lady Gaga, Sweetie Little Jean by Cage the Elephant, or Money Money Money by ABBA. I was torn between these three, because they all told a story I could easily portray in my music video. But I finally decided on ABBA, because I had millions of ideas of what I could do in the video. I already knew the lyrics to the whole song and some of the dance moves. I decided later on to watch the movie again for some ideas. I then talked with my sister, and she agreed to be an actor in my video. The song is about a woman who even though she works hard every day, she still can barely afford to pay her bills and such. Therefore, she believes that she should be with a rich man and be able to relax and have fun with her money. In the musical, it shifts from the main character's reality of working all day and night, to her fantasies of enjoying being rich. I am going to attempt to do the same thing in my music video.
