Planning Storyboard for my Vans Commercial

Image
Slide #1: In the first scene, me and my friend, Bella, enter the roof of the parking garage at my apartment complex. We will open the door and walk towards the camera, but be unaware of it, as we look at our surroundings. We have our skateboards in our hands, showing that we are going to skate with our Vans. This slide will be a mid-shot and be five seconds long.  Slide #2: The next scene, both me and her will be putting on and tying our shoes to get ready to skate. The camera will be a little closer to us than the last scene to make the Vans more visible. This will be a two-shot scene.  Slide #3:  In this part of the commercial, we will finally begin skating on the roof of the garage. This will be shot with the background of the city and the park to give more of a view. I will attempt to do a trick doing this scene and it will be a pan camera movement. Slide #4:  In the fourth scene of the commercial, we will be riding down from a steep hill of a level of the ...

Planning for My Vans Commercial

Image
Props: My main prop for the commercial will be the Vans shoes. I am planning to highlight different styles that the sneakers come in. I am going to include at least 3 different styles of the shoe, maybe more if I can find some. Costumes: My friends and I will take turns acting in the commercial. The actors will dress in a typical skater outfit. This includes mainly baggy clothes, such as cargo pants, flannels, and graphic t-shirts. Accessories are an essential aspect of the costume. Jewelry like, necklaces, rings, and chains are common accessories for a skater outfit. Beanies, bucket hats, and belts are can also be apart of the costume. Obviously, the Vans shoes are the most important part of the costume, since hat is the product that I am advertising.  Schedule:  10/23/20- I research the conventions and aspects specific to a Vans commercial. 10/23/20- I establish everything I need, such as the costumes, props, my schedule, my plan and backup plan. 10/26/20- I will begin...

Research Blog: Commercial Conventions

I am planning to do a Vans sneaker commercial for my project. Typically, there are clips of people skating in their commercials, since skating is the main purpose of Vans. Most people buy Vans, because they are the better option to skate with. They are designed with soles that help with grip, and they typically last longer. Most of the actors in Vans commercials either skate to travel some place, do different types of skate tricks, or even just skating with a group of friends.  Some costumes that are usually found in these commercials are baggy clothes, such as cargo pants, baggy jeans, graphic tees, flannels, and obviously Vans. Accessories are also a major part of the costume, like beanies, bucket hats, chain necklaces, waist chains/ chain belts, and big rings.  There aren't really much props in Vans commercials, based on my research. The one common prop throughout all the commercials are skateboards (both park boards and longboards), mainly to highlight its main use....
